Corporate Sponsorship

Home > Corporate Sponsorship

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research center, The Violence Project is powered by grants and the generosity of individual donors.  For 2022, we have launched a new funding option: corporate sponsorship.

This year, we released Version 5.0 of our comprehensive Mass Shooter Database which has been downloaded thousands of times by researchers, journalists, policy makers, and violence prevention advocates. We also launched The Off-Ramp Project, a data-driven hub of resources, training, and policies for holistic violence prevention.

We hosted several national training events for school leaders and safety professionals focused on evidenced-based strategies like crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and anonymous reporting systems. We have also given hundreds of media interviews, published peer-reviewed research articles, and written newspaper op-eds in an effort to change the conversation around public safety from reaction to prevention.

This year, we will continue to track mass shootings in the most comprehensive dataset that exists. We are also expanding our research efforts in collaboration with the K-12 School Shooting Database, tracking every time a gun is fired on school property as well as every threat of school violence to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on school shootings.

With the release of our new book, The Violence Project: How to Stop A Mass Shooting Epidemic, we are delivering data-driven, skills-based violence prevention training to schools and workplaces and helping them create in-house Crisis Response Teams. We are also widening our focus to study in-depth the pathway to violence for perpetrators of other forms of homicide beyond mass shootings.
