The Violence Project Co-Founder Jillian Peterson spoke to reporters for this CNN three-part article about how lockdown drills affect children. She spoke about The Violence Project’s research into school shootings and her personal connection to lockdown drills.
“We’ve been doing safety in one way since Columbine happened, and it’s not fixing the problem,” Peterson said. “The problem’s not going away, so I think we have to try other strategies.”
